In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl, on the 11th of October 2023, AMPLIFY Girls held a girl-led virtual event titled; GIRLS’ AGENCY - IN ALL SPACES!

About our Event
Success for girls is characterized by the ability to affect change in their own lives and community. This capacity is best described as ‘agency.’ We believe that in order to be successful, girls must believe in themselves and their own abilities, and have the skills they need to affect change in their own lives.
In line with the Global Forum for Adolescents’ 1.8 Billion Young People For Change campaign; the AMPLIFY GIRLS 2023 Fellowship Program (a membership of 22 girls across 5 countries in east and southern Africa), came together to host a girl-led virtual event showcasing why `girls’ agency` centers as a key critical measure of their success and how giving girls access to safe spaces where they can develop and express their agency during adolescence, results in sustained education, increased transition rates to higher education institutions, better integration into the workplace and a stronger voice in decision-making spaces - GIRLS’ AGENCY - IN ALL SPACES!
